Community Tasting Notes 10

March 26, 2022 - Saturday hangout at Domaine (Chicago, IL): Shows the stem influence deeply here. A bit of a lighter style, with the stems really coming to the forefront here. Not as much complexity as I'm used to in a Dujac (but admittedly I rarely drink the negoce wines), even though the house style is definitely there. Fruit on the red and lighter side of things, with prominent acid and lighter tannins. One that I'd aim to open on the younger side.

July 10, 2021 - Boulder Burgundy Festival 2019 with Adam M ~ Cherry. Some notes of freshly cut grass in this one. Noted some pyrazines in here, not sure if that was a correct call but it certainly felt like it.

June 28, 2021 - An inviting aroma of ripe red fruits, followed by hints of licorice, fruit tea, sage, rose petals and slight forest floor.

The palate is sappy and juicy, with a daunting acidity and some light tannins. The palate mirrors the aroma with flavors of cherries, blueberry coulis, licorice with a lovely outtro of asian spices and a slight green, brambly notion.

This was slightly in a slumber and was perhaps a little under expectation(or maybe just underwhelmed compared to everything else at the tasting).

I am convinced this will become special in 3-4 years.

August 18, 2020 - Highly perfumed, very pretty nose of raspberry, cherry and violets. Good flesh, supple tannins and breezy minerally acidity. Accessible now and simply delicious.
