September 8, 2023 - Aromas of blackcurrant, rhubarb, and cranberry, along with a slightly medicinal note, with forest floor developing in the glass and kicking this glass into high gear. On the tongue, just a wonderful balance of earth, acidity, and tannin. The experience was diminished by both the heavy sediment in the glass and the asshat waiter who didn’t even offer an apology (let alone a refund) while they went to attend to a spendier table’s birthday party, but hey, that’s not the wine’s fault.

April 20, 2023 - Not sure what happened, but the wine went downhill pretty quickly after opening

June 16, 2022 - Simon Bize Savigny Les Beaune Les Fournaux 2017 1er cru
On the nose, quite intense - a heavier style - with deep rich strawberries, blackberry, clove, heavy aromas, aromatic, some cinnamon and spice, quite perfumed. On the palate, blackberries and black fruit, heavy red strawberries, some herbs, with great weight of fruit and good purity, good complexity, some good sweetness and depth, long finish, hints of cinnamon and spice. 93/100

March 8, 2022 - Still a little nervy and slightly blocky, but irresistible after 3-4 hours open. Bize made really really nice 17s.
