January 3, 2024 - This has thrown more bottle coating sediment than expected. American oak and brambly berries. Tartness behind fine tannin. Plenty of richness yet you can feel the leaner body coming along. A wine that is sort of nestled in between south France and classic American or maybe a bit of both depending on your perspective.

December 16, 2023 - Significant improvement with age - decanted 30 minutes. Lots of classic brambleberry in the best Ridge style. Fruit seems to have melded nicely with oak, leading to an excellent moderately long finish. Think this is at peak. Well stored bottles may see a plateau for a few years, but I would drink in the near-term.

August 12, 2023 - Very good, but slightly heat damaged I think.

August 9, 2023 - Deep red center, red/pink rim, no signs of age.
Creamy blackberries and blackcurrants, vine sap, polished wood.
Smooth, balsam, great blackberry fruit, rosemary, a touch of bubblegum, good acidity, modest tannins, long fruit-driven finish.
Excellent blend, both grapes bring something to the table - fruit from both with good supporting acidity from the Carignan. Good now but might evolve well with time.

    January 22, 2023 - Drinking very nicely. Decanted ~45min-1hr.

Too dark in the restaurant to usefully evaluate color.

Nose was identifiably Ridge but softened and integrated a touch with the years in bottle. Am. oak starting to integrate but still quite notable on the nose. Bit of 'old wine stink' (good kind) starting to take shape though this came in and out. Mixed berry pie and bit of dusty earth on the nose.

Palate well-integrated with dark/bramble fruits, tannins a bit dialed back from current-release Ridge standards, good acidity (Carignan carrying some weight here I'm sure). Delicious and well-received at table.

Not sure how it came to be that this ATP-only wine (with ATP capsule!) was on the shelf at Spec's but it was delightful to experience. Would repurchase if I had the chance, but don't think that's likely!
