January 2, 2022 - Last of 4 bottles, last one consumed over 8 years ago, and this was still going strong. really nice complexity with dark fruit accented by tobacco and cigar box, Bordeaux like flavors but with new world subtleties. Away bittersweet to have one of my few remaining Match bottles
October 26, 2019 - 375ml bottle. We are neighbors of the owners and got this when they first started selling their wines. Its tremendous. Beautiful plummy fruit on the nose and excellent balance of blueberry and plums and prunes on the palate backed by nice wood notes and plenty of body. This scan keep going in the bottle for a while.
August 10, 2019 - A great bottle and glad to still have one more. Aging perfectly with notes of leather, cassis, and some spicy berry flavors. Great bottle and I hope to finish my last one by years end.
June 2, 2019 - Fruit is gone and the complexity is on its way out
May 31, 2019 - Unfortunately, this appears to be my last bottle. Through the years, this has had incredible QPR and it still does.
Fruit is fading a touch and I did not detect much olive as I've noted in the past but it is still so harmonious with elegant leather aromas showing themselves front and center.
We had a '13 Schrader RBS alongside and I found the Match so much more enjoyable. And dare I say I don't see the Schrader eclipsing the Match ever.
November 9, 2016 - Its been a few years since my last bottle and I must say this might be improving. Still has loads of oak, olive, mixed berry and nice texture but now there's a note of seasoned leather as well.
February 21, 2016 - Pours a deep purple/magenta with nose of chocolate and cherries. Drinking very well off pop and pour with loads of red currant flavor, some milk chocolate, oak spice and a savory green herbal steak. Tannins are mostly integrated, plenty of acidity -- good stuff and will probably last through its 15th birthday. Really good.
November 29, 2015 - I've had this wine many time and it just keeps getting better. Beautiful black cherry, blackberry fruit with rich chocolate flavor throughout, also some subtle tar notes. Well balanced, long finish, smooth tannins. Still a couple left!
April 27, 2015 - Black cherry, chocolate, smooth tannins, nice finish.
January 26, 2015 - This was initially tight which blew my mind. When it unwound itself finally, it revealed nice cherry and leather notes with hints of cigar. I have yet t be disappointed by a wine from Match. Delicious. This will age another 5yrs without question.
