January 30, 2014 - This is drinking beautifully right now. Decanted for about 20 mins and enjoyed over the following hour. Tannins have resolved nicely for a plush, velvety texture. At least for my palate, there is just the right amount of fruit at this point. Nice nose with some secondary characteristics. Close call, but I'm stingy, and this was not quite special enough to warrant 90 pts. But if I had more I would be happy to drink it!

August 24, 2012 - this was a big red, very fruit forward. nice nose of red and black fruit, leather, and coffee beans. on the palate black fruit, cranberries, coffee on the mid-palate, with some mushroom on the finish. not overly complex, and the fruit can be a bit overpowering. for $30 this is overpriced, unless you love this style, but without considering the price, this is an OK wine, and some people will love the big fruit.
