January 3, 2024 - Purple in color. 15.2% ABV. Sublime nose of red and black fruits, licorice, cocoa and pepper. Full bodied with mouth watering acidity. Exceptionally rich and plush. Black cherry, raspberry liqueur, cranberry and blood orange on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Big, bold Zinfandel with a compelling array of flavors that is aging beautifully. Best over the next 2-3 years.

September 17, 2022 - I ear I did this wine no favors when I made it the follow a 2014 Tensley "Noir" and a 2014 Alta Colina "Old 900." The Mancini Ranch was good, but it just did not have the impact of the two syrahs. We found the Mancini to be very easy to drink, but it did not stop us in our tracks and make us say, "Oh my!" It offered bright flavors and some spiciness. Again, very good, but paled in comparison to the two syrahs. My bad!

January 26, 2022 - Rich, delicious full-bodied mixed berry fruit with floral flavors, excellent structure, forward drinking, very alive, ample finish

January 16, 2022 - Did not rock my docks like others. Enjoyable but still better stuff from Carlisle maybe kite age? Drank over three hours. Has structure and fruit just not in harmony. Putting other bottles away longer

August 19, 2021 - Summer of 2021 Cornucopia of Wines (Dogwood Grove, Garezers, HHI): Not every Carlisle hits, although most do. This showed crushed berries, spice and had a floral nose, but it also had a dusty element that gave it an overly dry finish which I didn’t like. Also, the finish just wasn't that long, especially compared to some other bottles on the table. But my guests seemed to like it a lot so maybe I was just in a tough rating phase.

May 8, 2021 - But muted on the nose at first, after a couple hours bramble comes out, very brambly on the palate lot of raspberry, blackberry, black cherry, low acid low to moderate tannin, very nice, fruit forward and drinking nice this is excellent!

January 23, 2021 - 1st day I did not like it, it had a funny flavor that I could not put a name to. Luckily I kept most of the bottle and drank the 2nd day, what a difference. It was full bodied, voluptuous, with blackberries, spice, and a little pepper. very tasty. I had the same experience with the 2016 vintage.

December 9, 2020 - It's a bit 'raw' on the pnp......gets a lot better after an hour of air. Initially very grapey. Settles in nicely with a certain dark fruit, and gentle zin spice. There's a nice peppery component but overall not the depth to really make it sing. A nice bottle for sure. A good value for the price.
