November 4, 2019 - Deep ruby. Medium plus intensity aromas on the nose of black fruits (black cherries, black currant), toast, coffee, violets. On the palate the wine is dry with medium plus acid and ripe soft tannins, full bodied, high alcohol and pronounced palate of black fruits as on the nose plus vanilla, some prune, figs, dried cherries. The finish goes on and on. The wine is very good demonstrating intensity on the nose and palate, complexity with fresh and dried fruits, floral and oak characters, and demonstrates length on the finish. The alcohol is balanced nicely by the fruits and tannins. Drink now but can also hold another 5 yrs.

September 10, 2019 - Just delicious as always, a bit peppery at present, so have it with a pepper steak tonight!

April 20, 2019 - Always fun to try them when they’re fresh. The 2017 Zinfandel is bursting with capricious blue, black and red fruits with baking spices and a kiss of vanilla. In fact, this smells a bit like a fresh sleeve of blueberry fig newtons. Try it and tell me I’m wrong. As usual, these will be more interesting after a few years in the cellar.

April 4, 2019 - 14.8% abv. Deep ruby, expressive aromas. Ripe plum, black cherry, and raspberry on the back palate. Remarkably well integrated at this early stage with excellent depth and length. This classic DCV Zin should evolve very nicely.
