September 29, 2023 - Decent and some interest but this bottle seemed a little grumpy and never really shone.

August 13, 2023 - I have never had a wine smell more like S-H-I-T ans I’ve had my share of Rhône’s. Like straight up manure. After a couple hours this lessened but did not completely resolve. Showed a rather dark fruited profile with some olive notes. Rather aggressive tannins. This didn’t get much air which I think was a big mistake. Best to hold.

July 1, 2023 - A lot of talk about how great 17 N Rhone is showing just now, so thought I'd give this a whirl. Clean as a whistle - so much so that I'm wondering if previous dirty experiences were in fact with a different wine? On the nose - a hint of earth, a hint of blood, some black fruits. This feels like a friendly goth who only ever wears black but always puts his bins out on time. On the palate - lovely acidity, it's not screeching but it's very much there. Lovely structure - tannin and acid are marching in lockstep. Black fruits again, and some cherry stone perhaps. This will make old bones but it's lovely now. Yum.

March 19, 2023 - Well. Clean as a whistle. On the nose - not super expressive but some earth, maybe black fruits. On the palate - lovely fruit, nice and linear, some structure from the acid and tannin, well behaved rather than thrilling but a jolly decent syrah. If this note seems curmudgeonly it's because previous bottles have been a bit too animale for me. If the rest of my bottles are like this it will be great news.
