November 2, 2021 - 2 of 3. This has blossomed since last year. What a mouthful of raspberry cultivars with a bit of orchard fruit. The intensity is striking.
After several vintages, I’ve decided, I like Carlisle less mature. The alcohol is more behaved when engulfed in youthful exuberance. It’s pretty well mannered for such a hedonistic wine. Enjoyed it tonight.

October 6, 2021 - Classic Carlisle Papera. Vibrant raspberry, pomegranate, white pepper with a touch of mineral tinged orange oil and eucalyptus on the finish. All in balance. Layered. Excellent wine. Drink now.

October 6, 2021 - The 2017 Carlisle "Papera Ranch" Russian River Valley Zinfandel was staring at me today as if it knew I blew away my macros this weekend in a gluten overload. This wine is so powerfully sweet - if you paired it with a snickers bar you might have diabetes the next morning. The wine well integrated though - not cloying - just present, deep, concentrated and layered. Black cherries, plums, boysenberry and cinnamon on the palate. Almost chewy. Smooth and voluptuous. It might be just the carbs talking but I’d really like to pour this over some vanilla ice cream. -DD95

September 29, 2021 - Had to try one after a good friend posted he had one on instagram… Cherry, strawberry, pomegranate, violets, white pepper, great balance with sweet fine grain tannins. Very good right now.

September 14, 2021 - A nose of dark fruits and spices, dark purple in color. A full bodied red, with black cherry, smokey pepper and spice on long finish, still young, decant. www.winelx.com

September 6, 2021 - Berry cobbler. Pie crust. Sweet, ripe fruit, but not syrupy or cloying. Fantastic. Wow. Plum, currant, beautiful ripe, red fruit.

August 30, 2021 - Gave this bottle plenty of air. Slo ox for 4 hours, then decanted 2 hours prior to drinking. Really smoothed the wine out and brought out beautiful red and dark fruit notes. Not complex, but very pleasing.

August 30, 2021 - Back to that first experience, needs a good hour or two of air, but once it does it’s very good.

August 28, 2021 - Delicious! Silky soft mouthfeel with dominant flavors of raspberry and pomegranate; blackberry on the nose. Boutique was more delicate than the flavors, but very elegant. In a great drinking spot. Decanted for 1 1/2 hours before we started drinking. Carlisle’s drinking window is through 2028…they’re the experts but I think that might be a little too long. It was so good it’s hard imagining waiting that long to drink my others!
