July 24, 2020 - Cork, 13.5% alc. Slight seeping through cork and capsule however ullage is OK. Mould around top of capsule. Cork soft and brittle.

Opaque, dark red. Belies its age with little bricking.

Cherry, blackberry, mint, boot polish, soy, sweet oak and damp earth.

Savoury and leathery palate; an amalgam of dense and non-descript flavours cornered by oak. Light bodied. Drying tannins, though there is some shape and structure.

Opinion: Last bottle consumed at the right time. Fruit fading. No need to leave this any longer other than as an experiment.

July 12, 2020 - Still has a dark core. Plums, strawberries, chocolate. Mid weighted, with a sweet core of fruit on the palate. Just a tad short. Has held up quite well.

June 25, 2019 - 15 years in cellar, still holding and almost peak. Drink up now or within the next couple years.

Garnet red, bricking. Crumbly cork snapped open opening.

Chianti-like aromas of sweet cherry, earth, and licorice.

In the mouth, there isn’t a great deal of fruit remaining; more light and sour cherry, soy, and tobacco. More interest arrives on Day 2, with some dusty, peppery fruit, Christmas cake, and fennel. While the tannins are fully resolved, the wine’s length is only short-medium.

Opinion: Seems to be past its best, although it did show better on Day 2 so allow it the time to breathe and open up. Drink up.
