Community Tasting Notes 23

September 19, 2023 - Clear medium red/purple. Floral and meaty, seemed like Syrah, berry, black cherry, warm earth and spice. The flavours were very feminine, red berry, cherry and beef broth with a textured elegant finish.

Served blind after a bunch of Oregon Pinot Noirs. Some argued this was a Washington wine and was out of place in the tasting. Those people must think that a wine is made in a winery instead of in a vineyard. I bear them no ill will. It was a good natured argument.

Was perfect with rack of lamb tonight. A relatively fat wine, with loads of fruit flavors. Nothing overpowering. Everything integrated nicely. This is damn good wine. Case worthy. I will be buying more.

November 8, 2022 - Decanted 2 hours; consumed over 3 days. This wine is pretty damn amazing! Held up over 3 days, no issues at all. Flavors of minerally earth, umami, red berry compote, the barest hint of toasted oak. Very rich and mouthcoating, just a complete joy to drink, particularly on day 3 (surprisingly). Drink now with air - 2032.

July 20, 2022 - This is a fantastic example of Syrah from The Rocks. Overall, I agree with the other notes written, especially that this is drinking beautifully now. Looking forward to buying more from Delmas.

    June 4, 2022 - All day decant.
    Purple hue, medium plus body
Loads of dark berries, cigar box, some all spice.
Grippy, unctuous, a little jammy. Soft and a little spicy. Well balanced and approachable now, but will get better. This is bloody good wine. WOW! i am buying more. Such a delicious experience.
