May 5, 2019 - Re-opened and updating my score. The wine is all about the balance. Medium to light weight viscous juice which works really really well due to this balance between acidity, fruit, and tannin.

April 28, 2019 - Deep garnet, tawny rim.

Nose: Stewed black cherry and plum (oxidized?), bit of brown sugar and faint hit of vanilla. Closed projection.

Mouth: Lightly macerated black cherry leads in ahead of a midpalate of milk chocolate, grilled orange, ground anise and tobacco. Refined, if drying tannins only begin to come in on the finish of powdered spice. Grilled orange really takes over center stage, staying juicy and mouthwatering.

Overall: Juicy and round, a fun profile, if atypically fruity. Nose does not prepare you for where the what the mouth gives up. Leans heavily on fruit forward torque but the mid palate flavors pull it back to balance.

    90.

April 25, 2019 - Light body wine but impeccably balanced. Does not have the wears to really improve much as the acidity and tannin are weak, but today it is not bad. Barely present aromas of light cherry and some asphalt. In mouth weak acidity and nothing astringent here with the tannin either. Finish is mostly fresh cherries. Not bad and a pretty good value in a category which has mostly crap (the under $19) category.
