March 22, 2024 - Double blind. Deep inky color. Very different than anything else we've tasted tonight with a big dose of oak in the form of buttered popcorn, followed by blackberry, plum and currant, chocolate and barrel spice. Full-bodied with firm but fine-grained tannin and flavors of currant, kirsch, chocolate, blue fruit and white pepper. Guessed Howell Mountain cab sauv; a fun treat as I've not had one of these in a long time. Big, young and tasty despite its youth, I would give this a few years yet. (G&R)

May 18, 2023 - A real winner again! Great QPR. All that 2016 Napa cab goodness. Wish I had more.

April 20, 2023 - 3 hours slo ox in btl: Delicious as prior bottles in the last few months. Black cherry, blackberry, ripe lush tannins framed perfectly.

December 5, 2022 - Slow ox 3 hours: Medium to full bodied; similar notes as prior two reviews. Drank over 2 days. This is a very consistent producer and always brings a smile to all when I pop one.

May 21, 2022 - This bottle was singing with an hour decant and drank well over 2 days. It had nice body, mouthfeel and the fruit (mixture of black and dark red) was there. Good underlying but integrated structure. Drank a few days ago with friends so don't remember all the secondary flavors but it was very tasty!

January 29, 2022 - Scratching my head on this bottle. Had the ‘15 at Thanksgiving which was better. This wine was tight and unyielding. Alcohol and tannins overwhelmed the mouthfeel, hiding the underlying fruit. No real change over several hours. Saved a glass in the bottle for night two. A little more expressive, plums, blue fruit but not particularly complex. Not distinguishable from the regular bottling, in my opinion in 2016
