December 17, 2023 - Complex nose of dark cherries and black fruit meshed with waves of damp, mossy earth. Scents of non-specific herbs and hints of violets make their appearance. Surprisingly fruit forward on initial taste with fresh cherries, overripe cherries, and plums. The slightly subdued palate was not nearly as interesting or compelling as the nose. Mild to medium finish that trails with overripe fruit. Powdery tannins, medium acidity.

November 23, 2023 - Nose: potpourri, garrigue, and all the floral and herbal smells. Little barnyardy with ripe, dark berries.
Palate: up front I feel an almost slight effervescence, but it think it's just the medium+ acidity. Light, refreshing body. A cornucopia of berries. Tannins are mild but offer a firm grip to give this more body and presence. I really like this, but I'm still not convinced light reds are the best accompaniments to a Thanksgiving meal. I think bubbles will be what I pour next year. -

July 5, 2023 - This took a while to emerge- after about an hour in the glass started to show savory notes of rubber tire, soil which carried through on the palate. Interesting that the wine lacked any red or black fruit notes

July 2, 2023 - Drinking nicely but it still feels a bit young and primary. It can also use some rest time to polish the edges. Should have waited a couple of years on this.

June 30, 2023 - Medium-deep magenta color. On the nose, very floral, with a bouquet of violets, lavender, dried rose petals, and potpourri, alongside dark berry fruit aromas of blackberry and black raspberry. There is also some cinnamon spice, a hint of pipe smoke, and some outdoorsy notes of wet earth and foliage. With some air in the glass, there's also a bracing whiff of mint or eucalyptus. A very expressive and elegant nose. On the palate, it's more structured and masculine than I expected from the nose, and also funkier, with wet earth, mushroom, gamy meat, and smoke leading the way, built onto a solid scaffold of powdery, drying tannin. The fruit comes through on the finish, as does a distinct umami, soy-sauce kick. Medium bodied, good acidity and freshness, significant flavor intensity, and good length. This is Beaujolais operating at a high level, and is still on its way up. It's eloquent and enjoyable now, but I expect it to soften and have even more to say later on.
