June 13, 2022 - I don’t usually think of “elegance” as a term applicable to Mourvedre, but it sure is to this one. So floral, airy, delightful on the nose with juicy red cherries and bright pomegranate. Notes of pepper, lavender, mesquite and rose hips add complexity. Medium-bodied, the mouthfeel is gorgeous, a combination of brisk acidity and dusty tannins supporting bright cherry and tangy strawberry fruit. A racy feel, so floral and perfumed, with complexities of tar, black tea, beef drippings, mushrooms. Refined and pretty, but this should continue to deal out goodness for a while, although it’s drinking really great now.

December 11, 2021 - Still singing songs of raspberry-tinged deliciousness. Great on nights 1 and 2. Didn't make it to night 3 this time. Sad I only have 2 bottles left.

January 31, 2021 - Night 2 TN. The first night was tight and was just OK despite a bit of a decant in there. Overnight, it leveled up. Hazy garnet in the glass with a nose and front of raspberry, cherry, and watermelon rind. Its pretty, bright, and worth the price of admission for that. Just prime. Moderate acidity and light tannin underneath. The back. ripe fruit fading out slowly for a plush lingering finish. Elegant. It has more going on, hard to state and not going to try.I like it and with one left I wish I had more. This is enjoyable now and near term, just let it sit overnight to open. I struggle with what would improve for longer term aging, not much and its not worth the gamble. I don't see the fruit becoming some nuanced thing that is so different or better. Its delightful now.

November 20, 2020 - Red fruited nose, some yeast, flavors are of red cherry primarily, some black cherry, also ever do slightly yeasty, mildly tannic, mild acidity with a medium length finish, this is quite nice and a great everyday drinker

August 16, 2020 - This wine is fantastic, just what I want on a Sunday night. It comes with a slight haze, but already on the nose, a cleaner wine than most of the D&Rs I’ve had to date.

This is packed full of juicy raspberry, red plum and redcurrant. There’s low natural alcohol and really soft acids. It’s not an enamel peeling wine at all. Really the most balanced D&R from last year’s release. This wine is delicious and worth seeking out - the kind of wine you look down and the bottle is empty

April 20, 2020 - Pulled the last one of these as the 2019 shipment just arrived and it saw in the notes that these are for drinking in the short term. This bottle was an absolute pleasure full of round juicy fruit. Lighter and more refreshing than most reds, like a step above a claret. Although it was full of raspberries and berries and easy drinking, I felt it had lost some of the zip and fresh strawberry notes of the bottle I had last year. I do believe these show at their best early and will start on the 2019s as soon as they settle after shipping. But nothing wrong with these right now either!

February 14, 2020 - On the nose is fruit forward red fruits, cherry, strawberry, maybe even watermelon. Could be mistaken for California Pinot, except without the cherry cola. Flavors are similar, light and fruity, also get some yeast notes as it opens up (2.5 hours). No tannins, low acid, is nice and fruity, a bit of a cross between a Cali Pinot and Beaujolais.
