October 5, 2012 - Brick red, some browning befitting an 11 yr old Australian wine. Delicate, unmistakable nose- cool red berries, cedar, eucalypt. Smells "fine grained". The entry is cool and slipper before furry tannins emerge. Mouth lickingly good. This is what its all about.
ED: Even at the time I wrote that the 95 score was in context, this was cellared from release so at the time it was probably one of the wines I had kept the longest before drinking. No idea what "mouth lickingly good" means but there you go. -

March 31, 2007 - Big, bold, and beautiful. Medium to heavy bodied. Dark red with strawberry meniscus. Spicy bouquet, berry, cassis and chocolate. Mouth coating tannins, quite powerful, maybe too powerful. Long lasting and powerful finish. Perhaps more time to soften the tannins. 88/100.
