November 15, 2019 - This is a BIG wine. Dark, inky, almost black color. Extremely viscous for a dry wine. Chocolate, dark berry pie, smoke, and baking spice. This is much more a Shiraz in the Australian vein than any Syrah from the Rhône. So then the question is what you want from this grape. If you want a hyper-concentrated, ultra-ripe, high-alcohol juggernaut, oh boy have you got it. For some palates this will be heaven. For mine it is too much, especially the alcohol. I found after half a glass that I didn’t want to drink any more. 15.9%, $60.
