    April 6, 2021 - Color: light gold

Nose: medium intensity lemon, cantaloupe, and notes of crushed marble

Palate: medium acidity, slight bitterness, dry, nicely balanced. Medium(-) intensity flavors of lemon and melon with notes of grapefruit. Slightly saline. Nice smooth finish. Medium bodied.

A very refreshing sauvignon blanc! Subtler flavors and hint of bitterness. Very good.

April 3, 2021 - This wine is very impressive. Texturally it is superb: excellent juicy acidity, very good alcohol integration, and quite some drying mouthfeel, especially on the finish, making this feel quite savory and taut despite its generous aromatics. It has a very slightly green character to it but what at first appears to be vegetal/grassy turns out to be something much closer to lime skin and unripe grapefruit. Just a little grass, but nothing bitter. It's mineral and tart, citrusy and sometimes fleshy, savory and luscious but not quite tropical. No bitterness on the finish, which is longer than expected. Quite fine, and a superb value at $15. Drink now. 13.5%.

Note: the fruit for this wine comes mostly if not entirely from the enormous Dollarhide Ranch, a site in the farthest east of Pope Valley, surrounded on three sides by hills and very close to Lake Hennessey. Over 500 acres of the ranch are planted to vines, over 200 of which are Sauvignon Blanc, or ~7% of all the Sauvignon Blanc grown in the Napa Valley AVA. St Supery makes *outstanding* Sauvignon Blanc from this vineyard - both this bottling and the single-vineyard designate are reliably excellent. This area was ravaged during the 2020 fires; though St Supery picked their Sauvignon Blanc before those fires and so did produce a 2020, I don't know what the damage looks like in terms of future vintages. Regardless, we have a couple more years of superb wines to enjoy before having to worry about that.

March 31, 2021 - I'm generally not a big fan of Sauvignon Blanc but this one really won me over with it's pleasant acidity and enjoyable finish. Fruity and a bit sweet with just a touch of earth. Paired nicely with sauteed shrimp and couscous.

February 9, 2021 - PnP. Solid valley floor sauvignon blanc; all stainless, iirc. Some peach, a whiff of fennel seed, some thyme, mineral/soil, a little green melon, etc. Light>Medium body, with an avg finish/complexity. Decent table wine for under $20. Drink now. recommended
