Community Tasting Notes 12

February 12, 2022 - much darker colored than a lot of Sandlands. Full of rich purple fruit and blackberry. Showing some oak notes, but that blows off quickly. Retains some of the freshness of the Sandlands signature, but still feels unique to the lineup. I fear I may have opened it a little too early though, probably best in a few more years.

February 3, 2022 - Fresh, young, and crunchy. Quite bright and still a bit of structure. Satisfying and soulful.

November 10, 2021 - Popped and poured. Youthful purple color. Floral, dark fruited nose, fresh and juicy with good acid and some sneaky tannins. Got better with air. Would definitely be good with some grilled burgers.

July 13, 2021 - Crimson in color. 13.9% ABV. Rustic nose of red fruits, earth, iron and flowers. Medium body with perfect acidity. Crisp and refreshing with crunchy fruits. Cherries, blood, soil and minerals on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish. Super wine that is true to the Sandlands house style. Drink over the next several years.

April 30, 2021 - Popped and poured. Medium purple color. Tons of fruit out of the gate with black and blueberry notes, black cherry, crème de cassis, floral perfume and a bit of sweet pipe tobacco. Lots of ripe and juicy fruit on the palate with a perceived sweetness even though the wine is dry. Medium acid and tannin. It reminded me a little of wine fruit punch if that makes any sense. Tasty bottle of wine and will probably make a nice outdoor summer BBQ bottle but a bit one dimensional.
