November 21, 2021 - I really like this for its purity of fruit, balance and luxurious mouthfeel. Held up well over 2 days. Not enough depth of flavor beyond the fruit to warrant a higher score. Some tobacco and light spice. Torn - a lot to like but left me wanting more. Crowd pleaser.

June 13, 2020 - Might get better with age. Vanilla, Coca Cola, almost bubblegum nose. Decanted for a couple hours and then became a bit more balanced, and could get some of the pine tree, forest floor notes.

June 9, 2020 - Overall: This was a steal at $40/bottle. Drinking very well now, this well integrated young cab is blackberry-centric with leather, cedar, baking spices and tobacco notes. 91-93 or higher given the price point.

Details: Decanted 1+ hour after pulling off the rack on my wall (~70 degree day in San Francisco)

Plum color. Smells like dark berries, coca cola, and lingering cedar wood.

Tastes like ripe blackberries, with aggressive, upfront acidity that fades fast. Medium-low tannins. Fruit-forward makes me think pinot noir, but full bodied. Long, lingering velvet textured finish with baking spices, some vanilla...There's cedar (more on the nose), tobacco and some leather for the finish, but it's not overpowering. There's great complexity on the back of my palette.

We'll be pairing it with a rack of lamb.
