Community Tasting Notes 7

January 22, 2024 - Very enjoyable; nose has high toned red fruit and some citrus hints; floral and fresh with a tiny hint of spice; the palate is juicy with great acidity and solid fruit and depth. Drinks very well with food and is quite refreshing and vibrant. I personally really like this style of wine though if you want more structure or big fruit this may not be for you.

November 25, 2023 - I really enjoyed this; served with pork chops and mac and cheese. Fresh and bright red fruit with an almost pixelated feel; floral and some earthy notes, but still mostly just primary fruit. I don't generally use numbers for scoring, but I think 87 is low for this from the community notes; it definitely needs food, but its great with a hearty dinner. I'd probably score this closer to 90-91 if I were to assign one ;)

May 10, 2023 - vintage difference easily seen next to the '18 as this is much more red fruit and elegant; red cherry and fresh raspberry, a bit of mineral and orange peel; elegant palate, but still with some underlying tannins; I liked this quite a lot in style and I think it would be excellent with food; this will drink well soon unlike the '18

June 9, 2022 - Lovely wine with red cherry, earth and whole cluster notes. There’s a nice underlying acidity and it’s very easy to drink. Like so many ‘17s this is quite open and drinking very well, but there’s also structure to support aging.

October 16, 2021 - Had the 14 of this wine last week and it was superior to the 17. The 17 was more rustic, less refined and less floral on the nose.

Avg for its level and price but enjoyable.
