July 21, 2022 - Geez, what a beast. 2.5hr decant this is primal and chewy from a standard stem; Somm stems soften and lead to a more approachable wine, but fine grained tannins are more noticeable rather than being integrated. Either way, a good Law and Order fan would consider this third-degree infanticide.
For our anniversary we frequently struggle with old bottles of HSS (our wedding wine) that have inconsisteny survived multiple moves, so we went for a guaranteed winner tonite. March 10, 2021 - This went down very easily- super structured and balanced wine. Gave it a 3-4 hour decant before. Really soft tannins.

December 7, 2019 - Zeitgeist (Herron House, Yountville): 97+. Favorite of the group. Showing beautifully. Rose petals and violet on the nose. Blueberry pie, graphite, touch of spice. Touch of vanilla. A seamless wine, combines the intensity of the ‘16 vintage with the complexity of a ‘14, and the smooth finish of a ‘13. This is a really good wine.
