October 18, 2020 - 14.0% abv. Clear, light garnet color - this wine doesn’t appear powerful based on pour. Textbook barolo: cherry, leather, grippy tannin, green leaf, wood. This is a very full and long wine - has decades of life ahead.
May 15, 2020 - Medium ruby color. Floral aromatics - rose hips, lavender, rosemary, nutmeg, with fresh pomegranate and hints of cherry, along with mushroomy earth. Very elegant on the front palate, with shy but emerging fresh red fruit notes and a floral and savory spice secondary core. Very lithe and feminine mid-palate density, with mouthwatering acid and fine tannins, deceptively firm. Succulent and lengthy on the finish. Very charming. Showing well early.
April 10, 2020 - Still a bit young but wonderful barolo
April 9, 2020 - Giulia's Barolo is an elegant and refined wine, it shows a gloriously transparent reddish brick color, the scents of roses, brush, cherry skins and hints of white pepper strike the nose, clean across the palate, with feathery tannins creating a velvety texture, crunchy red berry and herbal tea flavors accompany the underlying liquified stone and earthy mineral foundations, finesse driven, great structure, continues to open and evolve with air at this stage, will cellar well, actually quite approachable now with foods
January 19, 2020 - Still young, muted nose of rose/raspberry, excellent structural components, high acidity and fine, ripe tannins. Solid finish. Felt the structure overwhelmed the fruit a bit, not quiet in balance. Look forward to seeing how this evolves over the next 4-5 years.
November 14, 2019 - Gordon's Festa d'Italia (Artists for Humanity Center - Boston MA): Walk around tasting. Charming red cherry with anise and earth. Good young with classic Barolo character.
June 22, 2019 - Corked.
