September 21, 2022 - Muted nose, dark fruits (blackberry). Dark berries, slightly leathery and spicy with floral touch? Feels alcoholic (15%) but still relatively balanced.

Perfectly decent value for the price but does feel relatively basic.

August 28, 2021 - A bit of spritz at the start. Dark fruit, licorice, strong tannins but it is needed for the fruit. Finishes dry on the palate. Village level quality but well made overall.

September 30, 2020 - Tasted blind. Med (+) ruby with a garnet rim. Med (+) aromas of ripe black fruit, stems, wild savory herbs, earth and subtle baking spice. Dry, with med to med (+) acidity, med (+), fine-grained tannins and high alcohol. Med (+) body, flavor intensity and length, with a slight bitter licorice note on the finish. Still early in its drinking window, this should improve with further aging.

Pretty clearly Old World and moderate climate, but hard to peg whether it is Syrah or Grenache. In fact, it is a blend of 74% Grenache and 26% Syrah, so I don't feel so bad calling it a N. Rhone Syrah.

July 5, 2020 - Two quick notes: First, this is too young. Second, it is not as good as the Font de Tonin bottling, which is not very much more expensive.

July 4, 2020 - Was knocked out by the quality of this with the 2015 so saw this on sale and had to bite. Wish I had bought a case. Such a nice blend of rustic and pretty qualities. Spicy with tons of black pepper and herbs. This is walking thru a farmers mkt in the south of France. Dark dark cherry and raspberry. Excellent at 55 degrees. Not sure if a gigondas can get better than this? My score is probably too low.

January 15, 2020 - A young monster; rich, dense, quite tannic, quite typical of the domane, intense fruit here, very solid and fresh - needs a few years, very rustic at the moment. 91+ point

November 27, 2019 - Beautiful, floral, airy, focused and pure raspberry and cherry fruit. Good freshness and balance. Delicious right now, but wait. Chez Faravel with Niels, HSA and Rune.
