Community Tasting Notes 4

July 18, 2022 - Quite rich nose with lemon notes, with high acidity, but well balanced. Drinking OK now, but i think has a lot of potential for development. Had this alongside the 2019 charmes aux pretres and the charmes seemed richer, fuller and more ready for drinking.

March 27, 2022 - From old vines; Deep yellow to light gold edges. Alluring lifted aromas of green apple, melon and herb opens to more bruised apple/apple bin with Scottish fern and pressed white flowers with ripe lemon.
An intense wine with a piercing acidity that cuts right through the fruit with a Malic edge to it. There is terrific tension in the wine, a testiness to the core, very linear, but with that fruit fillings, the mid-palate nicely. The palate shows more stone fruit with just ripened white peach, a squeeze of lemon, almost smoked lemons and a sprinkle of salt. Excellent concentration with a long saline-edged finish.

January 14, 2022 - Deep golden yellow in colour, the tempting bouquet serves up delicate spring flowers, white pepper, celery stalks, meat spice, cooking salt and wild herbs/Scottish heather. As it opened in glass it was joined by just-ripe white peach, lemon thyme and green apple.
Whilst the entry showed its classic piercing acidity, the mid-palate was broader and richer than expected with more peach flesh, lemon pepper, roast chicken with lemon and sea salt and a sensation of biting into a Granny Smith.
Medium in length, the salty lemon finish has a smear of honey showing some development over that last time I tasted it - just over a year ago (and too much development for my liking). To drink up.

    December 13, 2020 - Deep lemon
Light fresh aromas of green apple, lemon blossom, yellow flowers, chalky, fresh leafy herbs, mineral and white pepper.
Searing acidity, fresh wine with cut apple, lemon juice alongside some greener fruit, even a touch of stone fruit, liked just ripe nectarine.
There is an edgy, chalky texture but a creamy lees note assuages this in the mid-palate allowing some richness to come through. Fair concentration from older vines showing with a salted lemon finish. Exceptional length, this is a taut acid-driven wine that works exceptionally well on a warmer evening!
