August 26, 2017 - Very nicely mature burg, if not hugely complex. Rather closed nose but with black fruit, mushroom, and earth. Medium body, solid acidity, medium drying tannins. Strong black and red fruits, strong earth, mushroom, slight green tang, a touch sour on the long finish. It just seemed a bit unbalanced, or rustic. Might be overthinking it.

April 19, 2016 - Wine was very elegant and a good example of what french Burgundy is all about. The wine had a little bricking, which was consistent with its age. The nose was perfumed, with subtle violets and red fruit on the nose. On the palate, there were layers strawberry and red cherry, but also hints of cola and vanilla. The acid was subtle, but present, and this 2002 was drinking extremely well. This is a wine you could sip all night, and would go well with or without food. I thought this and a 2005 Archery Summit Estate were the WOTN....both different, but both very pleasing!

April 18, 2016 - Blind Pinot's (The Kenwood): Served blind, slow O'd for 4 hours. There is nice acidity, nice rich fruit, it is well-rounded, seems to have all the components for a great wine. There is a sense of Burgundy, but it does not scream Burgundy. I brought this wine to the blind tasting and correctly guessed it as mine.

April 17, 2016 - Monthly Wine Group: Blind Pinots from Around the World (The Kenwood, Mpls, MN): Medium dark red color. Splash double decanted; drank 1 glass "blind" over an hour plus. Very nice nose, floral, dried forest floor, red fruits. the palate has finesse, shows some age, medium body, fine grained tannins and medium plus finish. I was pretty certain this was my wine. Drinking well, but I would not hold these more than a year or so. 91+ to 92pts.

February 11, 2016 - This is a very nice Burgundy, the nose has red berry fruits, baking spice, hints of barnyard and damp earth, and dried violet. The palate is mature, nicely developed and tasty although for a grand cru it does lack a little bit of depth and finish. Drinks like a nice 1er cru, but it is also priced like a nice 1er cru so for me its still a solid value. I don't know that it will get much better, so probably drink within the next year or 2
