Community Tasting Notes 6

September 7, 2023 - Opened for 3 hrs prior to my 80th Bday celebration in Vegas. A little disappointing after all these years in my cellar. Finally opened up after an hour. Was very pleasant but didn't knock my socks off as anticipated. Still very balanced and refined. Enjoyed.

February 21, 2023 - Decanted for 2 hours. Black fruits, licorice and spice on the nose. Muscular palate, very ripe with a mouth coating velvet texture. A little sensation of sweetness followed by plums in addition to black fruits, finishes with a deep mildly tannic flavor recurrence. First of a 6 pack, this still needs time but is delicious now and will only improve.

September 5, 2021 - Pure, muscular dark fruit with toasted, nutmeg spiced oak - still youthful and largely primary black fruit. Notes of earth, rose petals, wisps of smoke and camphor. Good mineral drive and bold finish with tons of extract. In a blind taste test, the fruit and oak may slightly mask the terroir here.

February 8, 2020 - Somewhat flat. This possessed very little weight but was pleasantly balanced.

March 28, 2015 - Still quite closed, a small burnt taste underneath. Others liked it more than me.
