January 14, 2023 - Medium translucent ruby. Nose of high-pitched persistent violets, fine earth, berry, saline. Layers of evolved spindly red raspberry, Bing cherry, bramble, and iron particles on the silky palate. Softened tannin and spiky acidity. Medium length finish of resolved piquant red fruit, molecular iron, and anchoring earth. Very nice wine, seemngly evolved before its time.

October 21, 2022 - Really dense nose with dark fruit and forest floor. Palate is meaty again with dark fruit, smokey and impressive intensity. Still it manage to stay balanced and elegant. A medium finish with fine tannins and sweet fruit. Excellent with food.
My first 2005 burgundy in 15 years and if this is representative for the vintage its outstanding and very dark fruited. It will last many years, but feels mature today.

June 3, 2021 - Very good. Secondary characteristics coming through…dark berries and cola, some bacon or meaty aromas and flavors. Love this style wine.

January 7, 2016 - Went back and forth on the aromatics -- at the end of it, the verdict seemed to be "slightly corked", if that condition exists. Much better, and quite compelling here and there, on the palate. A bummer on the overall, really, because otherwise this seems to have had the underlying material of a great bottle.

August 28, 2010 - Shared with Judy and Mark on Mark's 31st birthday celebration. It was awesome!
