August 27, 2021 - Negrisimo, opaco.

July 10, 2019 - Opaque purple in color. 15.1% ABV. Big, brooding nose of black fruits, tar, smoke and lavender. Full bodied with acidity in spades. Well balanced. Blackberry compote, black cherry liqueur, barbecued meats and pepper on the palate. The finish is long with gritty tannins. At fifteen years of age this Petite Sirah is somewhat approachable. That being said, well made Petite Sirah from Howell Mountain might rival any domestic red in terms of ability to age. Best over the next 6-10 years.

October 23, 2015 - Not a big PS fan but nice wine here with black cherry, plum, subtle chocolate and lots of pepper notes throughout (and dare I say bacon fat). Firm tannins on the end, long finish.

August 10, 2015 - I rarely drink PS, but drink a lot of syrah, so this seemed similar to a syrah to me, with notes of blackberry, anise, chocolate, and pepper.
    Bright, yet well balanced acidity.
Great length on the finish with a fair amount of complexity.

February 16, 2015 - Closed at first, reticent on nose and palate. After 45 minutes, truly lovely, open nose of blackberry and black plum, some currant but mostly intense fruit. Palate medium bodied but flavorful, with a zippy acidity that brought the dark flavors into focus. Lithe, not ponderous as some PS can be. Medium finish. Drink or hold.
