January 21, 2023 - Initially nose a block of wood, opened up to so much after an hour of air. Blackberry, tobacco, and a bit of anise.

Palate unfortunately not as dynamic. Initially with a bland profile with some muted black fruit, want for a bit more acidity. It did open up a bit with more fruit and acid, but ultimately falling short of anything really interesting.

Didn't finish the bottle after two days. Got another bottle - as it's not seemingly bad from long age, and considering the relatively small loss if it does go bad, I will hold it for another year and try it again.

March 27, 2020 - Ready to drink, but should keep a lot longer.

December 6, 2019 - Blueberry, blackberry, and forest floor on the nose. Bright with fine tannins (maybe a little bit harsh still though) and some sour cherry on the palate. A new world wine with a little “old worldness” to it, a nice change from the scores of cabs, syrahs, and zins we normally drink. At $20 ( or even a bit more), this is a nice bottle to pop for a non-ocassion.

August 28, 2019 - A pleasant surprise. Never had any wine from Uruguay before. This one was a little pushy at first, but on the second day...very nice. Super well rounded and very well developed for such a baby wine. If this has any aging potential, this might be a steal. The fruity is there, yes, blueberry, but not dominating. As are the tannins. Really impressed. This winery was rated THE top new world winery in the New World in 2018 by the Wine Enthusiast. New World of course covering all of the US, South Africa, Australia, South America and so on. This quality, at this price point, at this baby stage for the wine ... I believe that. Try a bottle!

    Needs more aging.
    Very dark and bold.
