  October 2, 2023 - This is a really nice CC. Colour is pure, dark garnet in the glass and it greets you with a brooding nose of sweet red cherry, dark earth and subtle tobacco.
  
  Palate is fairly consistent with the nose, with a very smooth and soft mouthfeel and finish, with both the tannins and acidity nicely integrated and honestly no unpleasantness whatsoever.
  
  buuuut the only thing holding me back a bit is I did find it a bit...lacking something. Finish wasn't short but not particularly pronounced and long either and I just found it almost a tad simple? I'm not sure here to be totally honest. It IS enjoyable, and I had no qualms drinking this with a nice red meat sauce and pasta.
  
  90 points for me today. Still has plenty of life so no rush to consume.

  September 11, 2023 - After loving this on release and stocking up, I didn't love my last few bottles (consumed without tasting notes in 2022) as I thought the fruit was hiding and the oak was way overpowering. Now, the oak has started to integrate and the dark cherry fruit is starting to show again - I see that time should make this wine come around nicely.
  
  It has high acidity (not overly so to my taste) and fine tannins. The fruit is very ripe. The 13.5% alcohol doesn't show at all. The fruit seems dark and brooding and the wine has medium body. The finish is medium in length and is quite tasty. I didn't decant, but this seems to be getting better with air, so I think it's a good idea.
