July 17, 2022 - Popped and poured. Dark fruit (blackberry, plum), spice, slight earth. Good acidity. A bit heavy. Slight garrigue, coffee, slight herb. Better with a couple hours of air.

June 2, 2018 - Tasting with some wine geeks (@Private location, Frankfurt): Glass: Gabriel Standard
About 5h in decanter. Deep, tawny color. Intense and complex nose with lots of tar, ripe cherries, herbs de provence and Garique. Beautiful perfume!
Dry, bold and concentrated on the palate. Lots of plum, dried fruit, rosemary, thyme and marjoram. I felt like standing in my own herb garden.. Good acidity to keep it rather fresh. Great tannin structure. Good balance. Long and lingering, a bit hot on the late palate. Unfortunately, this wine was a little bit lost this evening side by side with the great racy Rieslings. But nevertheless a wonderful and remarkable wine at its peak. 93

February 9, 2018 - Cork fell to pieces, brick red color, horrible smell. This was corked. What a shame because this wine had great reviews on CT.

December 25, 2016 - Similar notes to last time though we did not have time to decant. Powerful strawberry kirsch with a long finish of mocha, saline and earth. Was superb with our Chinese style roast Christmas goose.

December 22, 2016 - I rarely score wines this high but it was well deserved. A lot of complexity ranging strawberries, dark fruit, beef, earth, black olive and truffle. Very long finish and exceptionally smooth. Drinking well now.

May 2, 2016 - A (perhaps) pretty little Syrah underneath huge sheets of mocha, roast, and coffee, coffee, coffee.

I'm not really sure how to rate this as a wine. More than any other wine I've ever had, any rating would not reflect how I really feel about the wine. On the one hand, it's not what I want when I want a Syrah. It's not even what I want when I want a *wine*.

On the other hand, it's a pretty singular experience, that's for sure. And I'd do it again.

August 9, 2012 - 100% Syrah, and IMHO the equal of most any Cote-Rotie or Hermitage. Rich, earthy nose, dark, opaque color. The taste continued to evolve to the last sip. I wish we could have had the opportunity to follow it for another couple of hours. It started out very, very, good and was approaching real greatness. Layered, complex, dark fruit. Unusually long finish.

May 27, 2010 - Racy and defined, this wine explodes with pure red currant, olives, raspberry ganache, kirsch liquor, roasted herbs and and mouthwatering exotic spice flavors that glide across the palate. The endless stream of raspberry fruit strides in on the finish and the flavors echo almost endlessly. This is a stunning display of fruit and precision. - JD98
