    April 4, 2020 - Appearance: deep ruby
    Nose: pronounced dried fruit, fennel, black cherry, blackberry. Vanilla, cloves, coffee. Wet leaves, tobacco, earth.
    Palate:
    Dry
    Medium acid
    High tannin
    High alcohol
    Full body
    Flavors:
    pronounced blackberry, strawberry, dried fruit, black pepper. Charred wood, chocolate. Leather, caramel, tobacco, meat.
    Finish: long
    Overall quality:
    Very good. More earth and wet leaves than I like but good balance of fruit and tannin, lacking somewhat in acidity. Complex nose and flavors. Long finish.

    October 26, 2019 - Winebar [1 Rosé, 3 Whites, 8 Reds, & 8 *shared* bottles] from 10/25/19 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): N: Something medicinal (but not particularly unattractive) atop RIPE berries;

    P: Med, poss LM, body; NICE, ALMOST swtish met by an astringent pucker which somewhat resolves by the LONG finish with a BITTER/swtness (70:30) to the DUSTY tannins which ULT calms down. Perhaps approachable now with LOTS of air? Otherwise, cellar through through '22, then EASILY making its 10th. While not currently what I'd call a "friendly" style, my VG+/EXC-, the higher POSS for QPR? [This vendor's $19.95 is $7 < wine-searcher's only listing.]
