December 18, 2017 - Charles pulled out an older vintage of the Fusion V for us to try.
Deep garnet red with some bricking on the edges. Aged nose with notes of tomato, a little stinky, a little earthy, strawberries and red plums. Balanced tannins (6.5/10) and medium plus bodied. Notes of strawberries, dried cherries and leather on the palate. Medium to medium plus finish. Drink till 2020.
December 18, 2017 - De Toren Tasting with Charles Williams at the Estate (De Toren Wine Estate Stellenbosch): This was clearly an old wine and not in my style - although those who enjoy older french will enjoy it. Classic old french nose and lighter body
October 30, 2017 - Intense leather balanced by licorice and tobacco. The key to this wine is balance: at this late date in its life it’s thrown a crust but only shows a little bricking, the fruit is detectable but tannins are not. It’s very very nice
August 24, 2017 - Deep and dark in the glass with just a hint of rim variation. Still full of fruit on the nose with slight notes of leather and spice. Black fruit in the mouth with spices and leather. Tannins are still present but well integrated. Smooth finish. Wish I had more of this vintage. Drink now.
April 16, 2017 - Red colour with a little bricking. Maturing nose showing stone and minerals at first, then opening up with wet leafs, cherries and hip rose. More tannins on the palate with nice structure and lots of fruits. Perhaps a bit thinner finish than expected, but still good length. This was feeling pretty mature already and ready to drink and was very nice with a corn-fed chicken. Best 2014-2024.

from 2001-2013. All wines between 90-93. the top 3 was 12, 01 and 09.
Shows some nice aging signs. At his top, well balanced
January 25, 2016 - This was a very good wine, very rich w nice tannins and a nice finish. 1 hour decant, bought at $35 price point for the 04, which would definitely do again if available.
December 31, 2015 - Nyårsafton hos A+N med P+A, F+A, R+J & H (Duvbo): Mature nose showing leather, cherry and ceda. Soft and silk tannins with a nice long finish. Was perfect with the Tournedos Rossini with potato gratin. We had one magnum bottle and two standard bottles, and all where excellent at this night. Perfect!
July 30, 2014 - Dark red colour with a brickred hue.
Maturity. Dried herbs, leather and violets. Still showing good fruit and nice tannines.
