November 26, 2022 - perfect level and cork, decanted 3 hours, marked legs on the glass, opaque colour all the way to the rim with still almost no brown, fine, quite complex nose but linear, reflecting the single grape, palate of medium weight, fine, delicate and lifted rather than powerful or super concentrated, fine grained quite dry tannin at the finish also with distinct acidity, what you have here are the subtle nuances of a single grape, I think I may actually prefer the additional complexity possible with blends (e.g. left bank Bordeaux), nice wine though and a different experience, good drinking now but probably only at the beginning of its drinking window, went very well with blue cream cheese (Cambazola) after the meal, actually better than with the lamb, which might not be a good pairing

November 7, 2022 - Already dried out, muted nose, thin fruit, drying tannins, a disappointment

March 22, 2022 - Decanted. Tons of sediment. None of the character that draws me to the Northern Rhone. Not much evolution aromatically. All stewed fruit, raisins and plums. Over extracted for my taste. Not a fan.

(TOURETTE Hermitage Delas-Freres) 2005 Hermitage Dear Friends, I realize we already offered a Rhone wine today but this was too good to pass up. With the new exchange rate, some amazing buys have come up and this is one of them - if you purchased this from us in the past, you can double-down and cut your price by a good margin. The last time I tasted this wine (blind), I guessed it was a cross between Cahors and Hermitage - it is so impressively structured and dense with extract that it could last for 40-50 years. The Marquise would be a top choice for a 2005 birth year (to open on a 21st birthday) at a price that is more than reasonable for something with this level of ageing potential: ONE SHIPMENT ONLY at this price with perfect provenance: 2005 Delas-Freres Hermitage Marquise de la Tourette Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Rhone8870

(Marquis de la Tourette DELAS Hermitage) Hermitage - 2005 Delas Dear Friends, This week's Friday Special consists of one winery - Delas-Freres. Since last summer, I've received a large number of requests for the 2005s from Delas but have had a very difficult time sourcing them. I've finally come up with a parcel that has exemplary provenance - how about directly from the source? If you are into Hermitage (and based on the number of inquires we've already had), I ask that you respond at your earliest convenience to give Niki a fair chance to allocate. Nothing brings out our customer base like top Northern Rhone Syrah so take note... 2005 Delas-Freres Crozes-Hermitage "Les Clos" This wine has been like pulling teeth to find but we have a small amount - only a few dozen cases were exported to the US (although, if you look around, you can find magnums of this in Europe for about the same price as this?). If you think Crozes-Hermitage doesn't age, this wine should live well past its 20th birthday - it offers terrific potential in a supremely feminine style but is also quite good right now. As much as I don't want to give you the retailer gab...hurry on this one - 150 bottles for the entire US: 2005 Delas-Freres Hermitage "Marquis de la Tourette" This wine evaporated from the US market in a flash - probably more for it's potential than its current state. It has simply incredible levels of extract and tannin and may last for 30-50 years if properly stored. A Syrah lovers masculine cellar candidate - reminds me of old style 1960s Hermitage. Would be a good choice for a 2005 birthday and it's one of the lower priced top-tier Hermitage on the market: 2005 Delas-Freres Hermitage "Les Bessards" Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Rhone7520 Rhone7530 Rhone7540
