July 29, 2014 - A nice change of pace from CA wines of the same nature.

May 11, 2014 - This is a beautiful wine drinking very nicely now. Still evolving, this wine has a smoky, clean leathery, spicy nose that does take a while to open up before adding some interesting deep floral notes. Palate is very nicely integrated with plum, graphite, black fruit, coffee, and gorgeous sweet funkiness. Long finish relies on the earthiness. Excellent wine.

May 28, 2013 - Third bottle - big btl variation here - this was somewhere between the first 2 in terms of enjoyment. It didn't reach the heights of the best btl but was enjoyable, a little leaner on the pallet, less complex, but all in all could have been a generic CdR, a disappointment to be honest.

March 28, 2013 - This second btl was not showing nearly as well as the first, very closed and tight, no volume and very little fruit, I believe the cork has had its way with this one. Not rated.

November 8, 2012 - Very dark in the glass, complex nose of tar, herbs and minerals and blackcurrant notes. very elegant with lovely acidity, alcohol in check, incredible structure, tannins are big but fully ripe giving a mouth coating velvet wine on the palate. delicious, seriously drinkable, will keep for years yet.
