July 24, 2023 - Amazingly still lovely. Alcohol but still smooth in the mouth, little old tannins, still mellow oak, grape, smoke or graphite. And chery. And minerals that still make your mouth water and want more. I would say to drink up as tannins are showing a little roughness. But very satisfying. We will drink it all happily.

November 1, 2022 - The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry jam and blackberry. Not the prunes that are often too present in similar age south Rhone (and other regions) wines. Fresher than I expected, younger.

Taste of berries with hints of chocolate and light toast. Still dry, some tannins left. Delicious.

The body is medium/full and smooth with a long finish. Medium acidity.

All in all, a very nice glass of wine, still surprisingly fresh and fruity. Not a wine to keep for many more years, it is probably over its peak. I am looking forward to combining this with a nice filet de biche with a raspberry game sauce.

April 2, 2021 - Gave a couple hours of air to allow to open up. Reddish/Brown with more browning on the edges. Aromas showing dark berries and dried berries, prunes, black licorice, black pepper, spices. Not a strong aroma.
Medium to full bodied, moderate acidity, nice structure, drying soft and ripe tannins. Dark berries, plums, dried berries and prunes. Pepper and spices, licorice, black olives and a bit of smoked meatiness. Overall a very nice wine, tastey … maybe a bit of waning acidity causes a touch of flabbiness if I had to pick a negative.

November 11, 2020 - I last noted in 2011 how much structure this wine has, and this still applies though it has moderated and balanced nicely by the fruit. Balanced, ready and enjoyable.
