February 27, 2024 - Dinner with the wine group (Sole Ristorante, San Mateo): Aromatic, a bit ripe, red fruited, some garrigue spice; palate is medium bodied, medium alcohol, some remaining fruit, not showing the complexity of the best chateauneuf but good balance; medium length finish. 89

February 9, 2024 - Dense, bright mid ruby. Dense, Syrah-led nose, despite the absence of Syrah. Round, no hint of 03 beyond perhaps the density. Smooth, harmonious, just a touch of dry extract on the finish. Label says 13.5% and I can believe it. Served blind, my fellow tasters were largely in the northern Rhone. ****

January 31, 2022 - In spite of the vintage, it was not too ripe. Dark berries, round, rich, floral, herbs with a sweet long finish.

September 25, 2016 - @The Progress. Surreal. Enjoyed it even more than the 03 Marie Beurrier. No decant.

November 3, 2013 - Power outage, bought take-out lamb/beef gyros. Popped and poured this bottle by candlelight so no idea about the color. Nose of dense plum, violets, pepper, earth. Elegant and silky on the tongue yet full of blackberry and plummy sap at the end, particularly after 2 hours of air. Peppery and laced with kirsch and iron as well. Moderate acidity and smoothed off tannins. Continues to be a delicious drink and not over-ripe in the least.
