July 21, 2023 - Friday Group Brown Bag Tasting (EBCC): Blind. A bit of bricking at the meniscus. Aromas of tobacco, black fruit and iodine. Medium-bodied and integrated. Flavors of black currant, Asian spices and herbs; has a pleasant franc/greenish quality about it, something along the lines of roasted bell pepper. I did not pick this out as our Les Pavots, instead mistaking it for a 2000 St. Julien.

This had been double decanted off its sediment and back under cork 2.75 hours before the flight was poured.

December 26, 2022 - Very similar to last bottle. Drinking beautifully. Lots of cassis, cherry, mocha. Delicious. Drink up.

August 23, 2022 - One Year Anniversary CLT Tasting Group (82 Giacosa, 86 Las Casas, 91 Heitz Matha's & More) (Charlotte, NC): 2 hour slo-ox prior to serving. Rich nose of red plums and earthines. On the palate decidedly Bordeaux in blending but New World in expression – vibrant black cherries and cassis with a gentle dusting of graphite. Velvet mouthfeel of fully resolved tannins make this a joy to drink. Another savory finish to close the night. A truly tasty wine this evening, I have to think given more air this wine gains greater complexity and would display more nuance hidden underneath some of those vibrant flavors. A great wine regardless.

July 31, 2022 - Much better than the last bottle. Drinking very nicely. Tons of cassis, cherry, mocha notes, pencil shavings. Huge nose. Bright and vibrant. Did not decant, but bottle really opened up over an hour or two so would do a short decant on the next one. Don’t see this improving though so drink over next 2-3 years.

November 25, 2021 - A great showing for this wine. Lots of complexity flowing through the silky textures. Give it an hour in a decanter.
