October 19, 2019 - Decanted by the somm at Charlie Palmer Steak, deep ruby, dark fruit with vanilla on the nose, black cherry on the palate, med. tannins, long finish; outstanding & apparently still improving, brought to DC to have with dinner with my son (his fave wine), drink or hold

August 6, 2019 - Strange wine. Still shockingly youthful and tannic. Black and red currants, plums bordering on a bit of prune, cedar and spices. In some ways is a classic Napa Cab bordering on a bit over-ripe, but still with a powerful, slightly harsh tannic edge. At the same time the wine comes off a bit rustic and unfocused. The core components of this are nice, but it's just a bit disjointed.

July 27, 2019 - Similar to prior notes, another great bottle with L & V at MIA Kitchen; delicious, drink or hold

May 31, 2019 - Decanted at home for 4 hours plus about an hour at Ody’s and Penelope. Beautiful nose of black fruits, a little cigar box, tar, dark chocolate and brown sugar. However, the palate is dominated by acid and alcohol...lots of alcohol. Would have scored a notch higher with less alcohol.

January 19, 2019 - My first Blankiet. Color with just the faintest hint of brick around the rim. A bit more black fruit than I expected at this age. Glad I have others in my cellar.
