September 18, 2015 - Jammy plum, earthy, mocha notes. Big fruit and wonderful pepper on the finish. Lovely wine and drinking well. Drank it with Texas style BBQ brisket. Great match.

October 9, 2014 - Dark red in color. 15.1% ABV. Briar, black fruits and white pepper on the nose. Plush and jammy with good acidity. Blackberries, raspberries and cherry cordials on the palate. Modest tannins on an extended finish. Great showing for a 9 year old Zinfandel. Drink now as I don't think this wine can get any better.

September 19, 2011 - Uninspirsing one note effort; agree that this does not really possess the character of zinfandel; soft, muted tones of berries

August 23, 2011 - Absolutely amazing, a zin for pinot lovers, very fragrant with a great palate of red fruit. Stood up for two days no problem.

August 13, 2010 - Why am I the low guy on the totem pole? This wine was vegetal in its nose when opened, and while marginally appealing, lost its luster over the course of the next hour or two. The taste was rich, fruity and earthy, but the nose and ultimately flavor deteriorated over time. At the end of the evening, I scented left over fish, and old mown weeds (sorry; I come from a farm). I would not purchase again.

June 21, 2010 - More restrained than I expected. Good plum and raspberry fruit. A little bit of cola. Cedar more than oak finish. Shortly after opening there was a distinct metallic edge, not in an unpleasant way, and it vanished after an hour or so of being open. Great match with grilled skirt steak.

November 21, 2009 - Very nice wine. Nose starts with early scents of grape, growing into vanilla, oak and some tar. Silky texture, with steadily evolving flavor profile of plum, a bit of raisin, and then briar. Matched incradibly well with Irish cheddar.

May 9, 2009 - Lighter and less intense than expected. Seems to be a less ripe year. Nose and palette were both nice but just a lighter still than I think is normal

May 3, 2009 - First time drinking an entire bottle of WS zin, though had tasted various zins during pick ups at the winery. The style and taste were clearly WS though it was interesting to have it in a Zin vs. a Pinot. Initially my wife thought it was a Pinot. Very nice with minimal heat/alcohol that seems to have become more common in zins these days. Smooth mouthfeel and good fruit without being overwhelming - i.e. it was good drinking on its own and also with food.

December 27, 2008 - awesome. reminds me of Joseph swan zins... and that is a very good thing imo. that "weak coffee" comment below coupled with the raspberries and light plum can be very tasty. almost has 10 year old cab like tannins/earthiness.
