June 8, 2013 - Complex nose of earth, meat, berry and some barnyard. The earthiness, meat and berry follow to the palate and offer a deep, weighty drink. This was first left open in the wine cellar a few hours, then tasted over several hours. It was pretty consistent throughout. Excellent to Outstanding.

December 6, 2010 - Perception of extremely high alcohol aroma and taste. Out of balance. Cherry cough syrup flavor.

November 23, 2010 - I know I have tasted worse wines, but they are escaping my mind right now. Of course, a dry cork that deteriorates on opening did not start the bottle off right and it went down hill from there. Deep red cherry colour, bright acidic taste that just melts your tongue. Makes me long for a bottle of Mogen David to mix with it to give it a fruit flavor. I don't believe a rating is necessary - of course, this is all my opinion and I am sure this is probably the greatest wine out there for someone, just not for us

November 4, 2010 - Classic syrah nose of meat, violet, earth red fruit...and brett. Too much brett to be classified as 'barnyard', for me it veered to a negative descriptor. The palate was earthy, resolved tannins and red and dark fruits. As the night wore on the brett diminished but remained noticeable. Very Good.

May 27, 2007 - An excellent Syrah. Medium to full bodied flavors. Dark and inky appearance. A complex and pungent nose. More tannic and acid than I normally taste in Anderson Valley Syrah. Will most likely benefit from 2-3 more years in the bottle.
