January 24, 2024 - Four years since my last bottle, and what a change ! Consumed over three nights, this (L1902) was clearly a well-made wine four years ago, but still a bit austere. Now it has gained heft and mid-palate sweetness and is in a truly great spot. It has sappy acidity, so it’s a great food wine, and it has
some spiciness as well. Outstanding QPR.

December 4, 2021 - This is drinking beautifully right now. The fruit has settled and become more delicious. It's a lovely, pure expression of Piedmont. Amazing QPR on this.

November 15, 2020 - This has the high toned black cherry/plum fruit and violet character typical of Barbera, but also a woody-spicy character that reminds me of mizunara oak (ie ginger and sandalwood). With some time that oak is less apparent and there’s more of a fennel note. High acid, M to M+ body, fairly intense, and unfortunately the alcohol shows fairly strong. This is better and more classic with an hour or two of air so I’d try decanting. Should be good for several more years, probably longer, maybe better in 2-3 years. ~5.5-6/10

October 20, 2020 - It's been a while since I had a barbera, and this one makes me kick myself over missed opportunities. As others have noted, if this is actually 14.5%, it's astonishingly well hidden. The wine has great acidity and doesn't feel at all bloated; the fruits are delightful.

June 28, 2020 - Lovely red cherry flavor, high acidity, medium+ body, low tannins. A perfect wine for pizza. Very enjoyable.
