February 15, 2020 - BIG Chardonnay.....loads of tropical fruit flavors, coconut?,
In a heavy weighted body with oiliness mouth feel....
It’s boldly flavored but never cloying...very excellent chard...
    Pricey at $75 however...
Will try some a year or two from now...
Definitely not Burgundian in style in my mind...

January 18, 2020 - Wow, this wine is singing today. Coravined a glass a few nights ago for my wife, then pulled the cork today. I’m enjoying it at cellar temp in a zalto burg, and it’s had some room to breathe at this point.

The wine is pale gold with burned sugar and oily essence of chardonnay on the nose and a hint of wet stone. The entry is big, even a little heated, but a crescendo of warm vanilla fruit (no butter, this is only 50% malo). There is some tension in the finish - good acidity. My only complaint is that the alcohol shows a bit. As close as you can get to Aubert without stepping in it. Go ahead and enjoy!

December 15, 2019 - Golden yellow. Apple, tropical fruit and some stone in the background. Creamy texture, definite malo, with a heavy weight mid pallet. A little bit of fat around the middle. Not the most elegant, but well made and enjoyable.

December 9, 2019 - Myriad, Quivet, and others: Super clean lemon yellow citrus, acacia, and lemon zest, with more of a focus on purity and delineation of flavor than the creamier and somewhat heavier Sangiacomo offering. The El Diablo achieves richness through deliberate layering and concentration, making for a weightless but still beautifully “rich” on the palate deliverance. Thanks Montrachet clone! An excellent execution of flavor here, without the cloying saccharine element that is sometimes found on other like Chardonnays from this region (cough….Aubert……ahegm). 95+ points.

November 28, 2019 - Not quite the verve and a little more alcoholic than my last note. Still solid, did better after being open several hours
