November 24, 2023 - Aired out for 2 hours and poured, no decanting. This was incredibly fresh and fruity given the age. Very fine tannin integration with little residual left in bottle at the end. Blackberries, cherries, bbq smoke, cedar, a little star anise and exotic spice. Better than the last bottle. Dare I say this might have a few years left to go. Outshone the ‘78 Lafite considerably side by side.

November 22, 2022 - At Family Meal Blue Hills NYC. Very high shoulder fill, cork came out intact on a Durand. Some greenness faded fairly quickly - this is in deep tertiary stage, lots of leather, dried fruits and tobacco on a lingering nose. The palate got more and more alive with 1-2 hours in glass reviving some secondary jammy notes. Finish isn't extraordinarily long, but was impressive for a 42-year old. Overall, this wine has aged gracefully and the nose was the highlight, made for some real pleasant drinking tonight.

April 10, 2020 - Greenish cab note from the wet and cool year, good and decent density for the year but definitely on the back end of the curve....drink up and DO NOT decant...stand up for a day to settle and pour off carefully ut be careful with the oxygen!

May 31, 2017 - Wow, crazy too see what a good winery can get out of a bad vintage like the 1980. At the end of its drinking window but still a lot of fun. Great earthy flavors with some cassis and overripe red berries. Drink up soon.
