November 30, 2021 - 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc. Expressive and really seductive in the style where it kicks from the bottom of the glass and rocks with all its power. Lovely sweet dark fruit of blackberries, plums, leather and the most delicious barrel spices. Some violet too. Pretty full-bodied and quite dense Las Cases with the most delicious fruits of blackberries, ripe blueberries, cassis, cool smoke, cask spices, licorice boat and leather belt. Long complex and wonderful finish with tannins that bite as they should. Fleshy style, but the acid delivers it. Brilliant wine.

November 21, 2021 - Almost perfect. Amazingly rich and alluring dark fruits, perfectly ripe, gorgeous polish and plush juicy finish. Goes on for ever. Such a wild contrast to their old school style, this should be great in 10 years as opposed to the compulsory 20+ it previously demanded, but right not it’s in that juicy drink now window which should stay open for a year or so before transition.

August 30, 2021 - This is the most exciting LLC that has crossed my lips so far. There is no waiting and hoping, or no need for reading between the lines in this vintage as in other vintages of LLC. This is extremely powerful and dense, with a huge peacock tail on it that just blooms into a rainbow of colors as the wine changes and changes again. Had the opportunity to spend time with a whole bottle of this and found it to be one of the most compelling wines of the vintage and one of the stars. Its made for holding 30+ years, but very enjoyable now. HOLD

June 7, 2021 - Tasted at JS. Monolithic would be an understatement at this point, maybe i need to request a 2018 vs 2016.

"When wall Maria falls, the titan will come." Is how i would describe this 2018 llc.

March 9, 2021 - Stylistically different, but not far off from the level of quality found in the perfect 2016, this is a future legendary vintage of Leoville Las Cases. As you begin to nose the wine you find a boatload of crème de cassis, Cuban cigars, smoke, forest leaf, tobacco, blackberry, coffee bean, flowers and earthy aromas. Full-bodied, rich and dense, the wine meshes power with soft, supple, round, rich layers of fruit that feel just great as they coat your palate. Long and intense, comparing this with the 2016 and 2019 over the decades is going to be a lot of fun. The wine was made from a blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot and 9% Cabernet Franc,14.5 ABV.
