I was so in the mood for a pure, delicious expression of Chardonnay. I knew this would fulfill my wish.
No change from my last tasting. (7/17/2021):”A beautifully aromatic chardonnay evoking thoughts of golden delicious apple and apple skin, lemon and vanilla with a salty mineral finish wrapped around a focused line of acidity. The wine is rich and luscious with a long finish. Super drinkable on its own or with food. Delicious.” -

January 26, 2024 - 13% alcohol. There is a powdery component to the cork, which breaks 3/4 of the way; no harm done. It is SerreuXdières by the way. Luminous golden colour.
The nose is both pure and rich with that broad appley aroma that I associate with Mâconnais Chardonnay; very enticing. Maybe even better in the mouth with a perfect balance between richness and acidity. Very good depth.
One of the best renditions of Mâconnais Chardonnay that I ever had.
Superb with the freshest black sole (I cannot help smiling when both the head and the tail of the fish hang out of the plate).
