October 5, 2021 - dark. expressive fruit and spice nose. Youngish and very concentrated. Firm but a very fine dinner companion.

September 7, 2020 - Double decanted in the AM and taken to a friend’s house for dinner. This is definitely a modern, new barrique-oaked Barolo, but it is not unattractive. It has a nice round mouth feel and texture with the expected vanilla and tobacco elements as well as black cherry and mushroom. Fairly long finish. Good with a seared thick cut pork chop and ricotta, pear ravioli. Not a very good QPR and certainly not the 97 pt wine Galloni characterized on three different occasions. Perfectly enjoyable but hardly memorable.

September 22, 2019 - I wasn't crazy about this bottle. I'm not oak-averse as such, but here the prominent French oak overwhelmed the fruit for me. I wonder (oddly) if this might have come off as more balanced in its youth, contrary to the norms I know but how else to reconcile the TNs from well-qualified CT members?

April 12, 2019 - Dense, dark fruit. Modern style, well-aged bottle. Figs, camphor, leather, dark cherries, hints of citrus peel, port-like on opening, Drink now. Bitter-sweet.

July 20, 2018 - Belated birthday celebration at Bishan.
Appearance pale intensity, garnet colour. With very fine sediment. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of soya sauce, earth, sweet caramel, grilled herbs, bits of floral and ?VA. Some chocolate with more air. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), resolved high tannins, full body. Medium flavour intensity, with flavours of sweet raisins, red cherries, herbs, caramel, soya sauce, earth, chocolate, spice. Long finish.
Complex but not harmonious. Should have been drank a few years ago for more enjoyment. Ripeness of the vintage shows. I don't recommend ageing this further.
