February 25, 2024 - One of my two last bottles from a case of the 2017. On opening, a familiar lively nose of flowers and dried strawberry, which fills out over the course of the bottle into richer and riper fruit, always balanced and sometimes overbalanced by ashy tannin on the finish. If I'm being analytical, there's some roughness and discordance here. But there's also enough vibrancy, and a seductive enough nose, that I don't care about being too analytical, and it's delicious enough with a spicy sobrasada pasta to make me reminisce about nerelli past. This case helped get me through the pandemic and I'll be sorry to see it go -- and if this bottle is any indication, it'll go out in style.

September 21, 2023 - From magnum. This former Contadino - which upon release felt somewhat rowdy and fiery - has aged into shape in a spectacular way. The wine still has great freshness to the crunchy berry/blood orange fruit, while tannins gently nibble away and spicy-salty-liquorice minerality create small eruptions of volcanic energy on the tongue. We hardly perceive the 14,5 % of alcohol anymore - not even the morning after - and the wine just drinks like a charm. One of these big bottles left, no hurry. (Disclaimer: ITB with Swedish importer Vin & Natur)

March 12, 2022 - Moget mörka bär, överraskande gott

January 27, 2022 - Distinctive aromas of fresh flowers, volcanic earth and ferrous material. More medium bodied than expected with tart cherries and a richness balanced by acidity. Delicious but needs food at this point in its evolution.

January 22, 2022 - Big bodied, high alcohol. Still has some nice acidity and that typical vibrating mouthfeel.
