February 3, 2022 - Past its prime, but still extremely enjoyable. Used a coravin and drank over 3 days. Initial nose of maple, fig and cured meats -- my initial thought on the nose was vintage port. Developed a bit of smokiness on the nose after 30 or so minutes in the glass. On the palate, mostly tertiary notes at this point and lacking any major fruit. Started with a palate very similar to the nose: maple syrup (without the sweetness), smoked pulled pork/cured meats. Medium body, still has nice acidity, but almost no tannins. Some hints of red fruit/cherries still on the palate. Decent finish with some oxidative notes of walnut. For me this wine delivered way over my expectations for the age of the wine!

November 26, 2021 - Full of life and propelled by this dark, amaro, bitterness, like 80% cacao and coffee. There's cooked plum supporting it but it's really all about the plumpness offset with a classic Italian kind of bitter. Lovely.
